bossydal1
yesterday i was having problems with adding combinations and i was still having trouble with it this morning so i uninstalled prestashop deleted everything and then started again and even still i can't add more then one combination. i don't want to have a quantity i just want people to be able to go on my website pick what they want and then buy it as the quantity for my items and millions and millions but if i put in even 1 with the amount you can select from it just doesn't add it and to be honest the problems i have been having with prestashop is making me guess if i made the right choice with pick this program
Mike Kranzler
Hi bossydal, Did you talk to your hosting provider yet? From what I remember yesterday, your combinations were massively overloading your server. -Mike
bossydal1
yes i spoke to them and they said there should be a problem with it that is why i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and deleted everything from my server so that nothing was left of the old one. but even if i try to put the quantity as 1 it still won't add what i want and that is only on the first product

bossydal1
i have no idea as it won't add them and tell me but there are 83 different things to pick from per item as I'm selling custom built computers were the customer picks what they want so it can't just be picking from 3 or 4 things and 83 things to pick from isn't that much and if it won't handle it now what will happen when i start to add different things like printers' or 3d screens or different types out keyboards. tomerg3
How many different attribute groups are you trying to use for a product, and how many attribute values are in each group?
bossydal1
13 groups in one group there's 20 (computer cases) and in another there's 2 (audio card) but altogether there's 18 groups and 83 different things to pick but each product will have 13 groups and 71 things to pick from out of the 13 groups

I would recommend that you look into tomerg3's Attribute Wizard Pro module, I think it will handle your needs very well. I hope this helps. -Mike
bossydal1
i'm sorry buddy but I'm not prepared to spend that amount of money on something that might work when it should work to begin with don't get me wrong i am grateful for the help from you mike you've been a star but i just don't think prestashop is for me if the default one can't handle what i need it to do with just the basics that I'm starting to sell and when i start to sell another 100+ items will it work with that or would i of just wasted my money and then have to pay for something else with another company
Mike Kranzler
Hi bossydal, I will defer to tomerg3 on this one, as it is his module and he knows it better than anyone else. -Mike
tomerg3
The module has a front & backend demo, so you can try to create a product and set it up as you would on your site. This way you can be sure that it does exactly what you need before you buy anything,
bossydal1
cheers tomerg3 i will try it but will i be able to put all 15 items with all them selection on there in the demo?
tomerg3
You can do whatever you want with the demo, we reset it every couple of weeks. The module handles combinations differently (so it does not require a huge amount of them). Start by reading the FAQ tab in the product page (linked by mike). You'll find the demo info at the bottom of the description, make sure to enter the configuration page of the module for more instructions and example for creating the combinations. This module was originally designed to be used for computer stores, similar to apple.
