editing pages within prestashop

Recommended Posts

hey all,

i'm new to prestashop and the tpl files that it runs on. i recently purchased a template for an online shop i plan on starting soon. while i'm pretty happy with the overall layout, there are a couple things i feel that need changed before the site goes live.

one is the authentication process; the site forces the user to create an account before placing an order, rather than just going straight to the payment page like most do. i was even thinking a skip this step option would be useful. do i have to go into the order.tpl file directly in order to alter this, or is there generally an easier option?

secondly is that it when gets to the checkout page it presents the user with a number of payment methods ;

bankwire

check

paypal

etc.

is there a way to set a default payment method the site automatically directs the user to upon checkout, or do i again have to open up the tpl files directly and edit the process this way.

thanks in advance.

These options are all easily changed in your Back Office. Click on Preferences. Scroll down until you find,

Checkout process type - Change to one page checkout if you prefer.

Enable guest checkout - Choose to enable or not.

The payment choices are controlled by Modules that you enable or disable.

Click on Modules > Payments & Gateways.

Fool around a bit and let me know how you make out. :)
