Prestashop Installation problems. GoDaddy Hosting

Recommended Posts

I’ve receive this error when i'm installing Prestashop (1.4.8.2).

“Database Server is available but database is not found”.

I’ve created a database from GoDaddy panel as per the tutorial given by them and rename it. I've set the config folder to be writable.

What else do i need to do? I’ve even create 2 more databases but still receive the same error.

I’ve also waited 24 hours thinking that the database has not been replicated, but to no avail.

I know there is a step by step guide (http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/73020-solved-installing-prestashop-on-godaddy/) , i've followed it but it does NOT work for me..

I’m totally lost now. Please help me!

The database name and database login should be the same thing not different. Try setting both to the username you picked for your database when you set it up in your Go Daddy account.

Thanks @Mike_GoDaddy! Works now!

But I've also need to set permissions to few folders too to make this work.

Make sure the following PrestaShop folders have ‘write’ permissions (also known as “CHMOD 777” – explanation of file permissions here) but do not apply these permissions recursively (to their subfolders): /config, /upload, /download, /tools/smarty/compile.

Then make sure the following folders have ‘write’ permissions and apply these permissions recursively (to their subfolders): /img, /mails, /modules, /themes/prestashop/lang, /translations
