Blank Back office page after install

Recommended Posts

When I type in my domainname.com/subdirectory/admin and it just gives me a blank page.

The store comes up under the domain and subdirectory...but the back office is just blank.

After a while in internet explorer I now get a 505 error webpage not available.

Do I need to reinstall everything? In order to do that do I just delete everything, including the database and redo the install from scratch?

Hi twolabs,

There are a few ways to troubleshoot this sort of problem. Usually, your server will generate an error, even if it isn't actually shown to you. You can force the server to show you the errors it generates by setting:

display_errors = On

In your php.ini file, or alternatively by checking your error_log, which can usually be found in most modern control panels such as cPanel and Plesk under "Logs".

If you need any help with either of these options, your host should be able to give you exact steps specific to their environment.
