Free Shipping On ONE Carrier / Item

Hello everyone,

 

I am loading t-shirts onto my site from events and I want the option for "Event Pickup" on just those shirts. Thing is, the few ways I've tried to work out this free shipping for only event pickup items doesn't work if a customer places multiple things in their cart.

 

I tried setting "free shipping" to over 1000 pounds (I traditionally do shipping based on price so NONE of my items have weights, and I set the event shirts to 1000 lbs) but then I realize if the customer buys something that DOES require shipping at the same time, then shipping is free regardless.

 

I have an Event Pickup carrier enabled, but when they go to check out it is not an option.

 

Any thoughts on how I can make these event shirts NOT apply to the total cart amount? (So if customer buys event shirt + shipped shirt, the amount of shipping will only reflect the shipped shirt and discount the event shirt).
