phoenixxinOz
I did a search here on this problem, and read all the results, and applied what I read.I've just spent 3 solid hours trying to get the install past Step 3. None of what I read/applied worked....when I click "next", I still just get the loading bar, which just disappears after a few seconds. All the file perms are as required( as per another thread)I tried it on FF AND IE ( as suggested in another post)I tried changing to .htaccess( as per another thread)I'm installing Prestashop on a test subdomain so a friend can try it out.I use Prestashop on my own site, and do not recall having any problem with installing it.I'm stumped, and just don't understand what is going wrong.Any help would be greatly appreciated.TIA
jesus
I have the same problem, when I click in verify (connexion bd) or next step, the iexplorer says error, and only the loading bar appears but does not end....error:LINE 328character 4error object doesn´t support this property or methodCODE 0URL …../install/in spain....http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/17301/#78474
phoenixxinOz
I don't get any errors on the server log for this install attempt. It just fails to go to the next step.Yet it installs instantly on my localhost...and on the host ( 1and1: I had no problems with 1and1 and Prestashop) I have Prestashop already installed...could it be a problem with the host I'm using for this install then? It's an Aussie host: COVE. ( I have posted on the COVE forum about it)This is very frustrating, to say the least.
jesus
The problem is the name of data base. I created a DB with short nam, it´s ok, for example:username_dbname change for username_a
phoenixxinOz
Well, I tried your suggestion, though I had had no problem with the mysql settings...the database connected fine...the test email was sent and was received. ( This happened no matter what length database name)I still cannot get to Step 4.Back to the drawing board( and pulling my hair out). Thanks anyway:-)
phoenixxinOz
Well, it turns out it was a host server problem....my Aussie Host has very strict server security settings....which is great really....just means I have to ask them to make it possible to install Prestashop ( which they are happy to do).Good luck to any others who still have the "Stopped at Step 3" problem....and thanks to all who offered their help:-)
acidcool
Hi!Presumely that you have you mysql connect test and it was ok and you are stuck at step 3 -Database configurations.Solution: Try to use Opera Browser to do the installation. it will work. I experience the same problem during my installation process. Spent few days trying all the methods..and finally i found this workaround way. Weird, I also don't know why it is like that.Good Luck.
