SCW
PrestaShop Version 1.4.1.0 PayPal Module v2.4 We have a customer in India (we are in the U.S.) attempting to purchase our products but they keep receiving the following error response from the PayPal API: 1. PayPal response: 2. TIMESTAMP -> 2012-06-08T18:30:01Z 3. L_ERRORCODE0 -> 10729 4. L_SHORTMESSAGE0 -> Shipping Address State Empty 5. L_LONGMESSAGE0 -> The field Shipping Address State is required 6. L_SEVERITYCODE0 -> Error Obviously, PayPal is looking for a "State" but to my knowledge, various geographical regions are not defined as a "State" in India or many other countries for that matter... Please advise how to resolve the issue with the v2.4 module or PayPal and allow the customer India (and other countries without States) to complete orders without encountering this error message. Thank you!
Mr_PayPal
Hello, The field Shipping Address State is required. Please make the state/region required for customer registrations (even for India). Have a nice day!

Pressed0024
Did you eventually got this solved? Same problem for my India customer. Paypal Version :3.6.
Pressed0024
I think the State request is done on Paypal server's side. However, since India doesn't use a State system, I'm not sure how should we have this solved. Paypal API servers checking city and states is getting annoying for me since its prevents a handful of failed orders which means orders are lost. Omk
However, since India doesn't use a State system, I'm not sure how should we have this solved. Hey, now you are seriously mistaken. India definitely has very independent states. Laws vary from state to state. India is a federal republic consisting currently of 29 states and 7 union territories. In India, the executive power of a State extends to legislature as each state has power to make its own laws. So they are definitely a states, and not just a provinces. Let's quote Wikipedia here: India is a federal union of states[1] comprising twenty-nine states and seven union territories. States of India: 1 Andhra Pradesh AP 2 Arunachal Pradesh AR 3 Assam AS 4 Bihar BR 5 Chhattisgarh CT 6 Goa GA 7 Gujarat GJ 8 Haryana HR 9 Himachal Pradesh HP 10 Jammu and Kashmir JK 11 Jharkhand JH 12 Karnataka KA 13 Kerala KL 14 Madhya Pradesh MP 15 Maharashtra MH 16 Manipur MN 17 Meghalaya ML 18 Mizoram MZ 19 Nagaland NL 20 Odisha (Orissa) OR 21 Punjab PB 22 Rajasthan RJ 23 Sikkim SK 24 Tamil Nadu TN 25 Telangana -- (state code not assigned yet) 26 Tripura TR 27 Uttar Pradesh UP 28 Uttarakhand UK 29 West Bengal WB Union Territories of India: A Andaman and Nicobar Islands AN B Chandigarh CH C Dadra and Nagar Haveli DN D Daman and Diu DD E Lakshadweep LD F National Capital Territory of Delhi DL G Puducherry PY http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_and_union_territories_of_India Edited August 30, 2014 by Omk (see edit history)
