Update 1.4.8.2 to 1.5.0.13

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I try upgrade my prestashop 1.4.8.2 to 1.5.0.13 but have this message:

Warning: You cannot use anymore this tool to upgrade your store.

You already have PrestaShop version 1.4.8.2 installed.

If you want to upgrade to the latest version please read our documentation:http://docs.prestash...ting+PrestaShop

I want check documentation, but I need a user and password.

Is not possible update from 1.4 to 1.5 ?

Regards,

DG

Yes it it possible but do not do it on production server. It is still a RC and I already found some bugs and posted them on the bug tracker. Although I think it runs pretty smooth (congrats PS team) there need to be fixed some bugs before it is production ready.

Regards, trip

Hi Mike,

I have followed the 1.4 manual upgrade process but when I point to /install/upgrade/upgrade.php it is very busy for a couple of minutes, then returns "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.". Needless to say, nothing works after that point, and I need to reload my files and database from a backup to get back to V1.4.7. I haven't spoken to one person yet who has successfully upgraded to 1.5, and I have about a dozen friends trying to upgrade their shops as well. Can you confirm that you are getting an actual upgrade to work..

Hey guys,

When using the upgrade.php script, it should end with an XML file that starts with this node:

<action result="ok">

This means the upgrade worked. You should be able to reach your admin and check that everything is working.

This final output will eventually be turned into something more readable, but for now this is your best indicator.

You might also try using the autoupgrade module.

Thanks Xavier,

Upgrade.php is available at this location. "prestashop\install\upgrade" But I did not see any xml code here. may i know in other words.

Thanks for your Precious Time

I havent tested it yet though but planning to risk it with my production store.

Please don't. The module is still untested in some situations, and is not recommended for production stores for now. We are working hard to hammer out all possible issues for the 1.5 stable release.

Will the autoupgrade module also work for PrestaShop 1.1.0.5 -> 1.5.0.13 upgrades?

I have a 1.1.0.5 Live shop which we are finally going to upgrade to newest version. We are going into test now and need to keep the old data.

Please advise.

I'll add that a LOT of things have changed since 1.1.0.5, and you should be extremely cautious when upgrading. I advise you not to rely on anything automatic, and follow the longest and safest path of doing all the work manually, all the while making sure you have working backups of everything.

Great job on 1.5 - really impressed.

Quite slow loading and very sluggish but I am sure work is being carried out to fix that.

Tried the autoupgrade module and while it is great, it failed twice with javascript error while trying to upgrade the database. The first time, I only had the root user with no password and it failed with javascript error. I created a user/passwd and updated settings.inc.php and still got the javascript error. Not sure what I am doing wrong but the module is great if it works.

Both rollbacks were great. They worked fine and I have my dev env as it was before I started upgrade.

Any ideas about the javascript errors I may have to splash out and go the manual route but I hope I don't have to.

Cheers.

From here:

"it is highly advisable not to adapt a 1.4 theme to PrestaShop, but rather start with the default theme and adapt your HTML and CSS files to it. This way, you will ensure that all the new features from PrestaShop 1.5 will be included in your theme out of the box."

Everything was messed up when I tried to upgrade from 1.4.5.1 to 1.5 using 1 Click Upgrade module. After I run it in localhost, I got all kind of errors during the process. Even when I rolled back to a previous version, the roll back feature didn't work as expected and everything was really messed up.

Now, I need to create a local host environment again from the files I have in production, in order to get it work.

You are adviced to upgrade this carefully using a local test environment first, in order to avoid losing files and data.
