Hoodgrown
Hi,I Really like the look of PrestaShop for an ecommerce fashion site - I have looked at several others, including Magento - crazy install / slowJoomla Virtuemart - Bulky and Buggy?Zencart - Seems to have best reviews so far I really need help and just wondered of the user experiences advice when it comes to SEO |Affiliates |Stability |Paypal Pro Integration ( Seamless Branded checkouts ) CheersAlex When using Magento I choose a host that include install with registration. Beyond that, it's just so much work to get anything done in Magento. I'm not a fan of using Joolma Virtuemart. I think Joolma is a great CMS but a shitty cart.Having tried Zencart though I know it's a fork of Osc. It's a mature product so that are plenty of extension/modules for it.I'm new to Prestashop myself but my experiences with Prestashop is that as far as SEO goes it's incredible. It's a modern cart built with a lot of good SEO features in it from install. I haven't had any stability issues or encountered any bugs but there are others on the forum experiences differ from mine. Personally, I think who you choose as a host has a lot to do with a lot of these problems. My host was optimized for Magento. When I deleted my Magento cart and decided to run Prestashop, I haven't experienced a lot of the issues that some seem to have.. pay pal, google checkout, ssl.If you're looking for Paypal Pro intergration... at the moment it doesn't exist and is not a priority for the prestashop team. There are members who are working to get this done for US and UK shops and a quick search of the forum should bring up their thread. Not quite sure what you mean by "branded checkouts"
Alex Eman
Hey Hoodgrown,Thanks very much for the reply.Paypal Pro:Is essential partly because of branded checkout.Branded CheckoutBy branded checkout I mean that customer never 'leaves' the site at checkout, but stays within the site right throughout checkout.VAT IssueI have been reading about the VAT issues, that is very key as it is in UK, and must abide to EU laws.I love my first experiences of PS but am a bit concerned.ZencartThanks will look at Zen,Cheers
Hoodgrown
gotcha...There is an Authorize.net checkout somewhere...The discussion about Pay Pal Pro is here:http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/16251/modules/discussion_paypal_web_payments_pro_wpp__american

kavaXtreme
Magento - crazy install / slowJoomla Virtuemart - Bulky and Buggy?Zencart - Seems to have best reviews so far I delved into those same carts and came to pretty much the same conclusions. I haven't found the perfect solution, but I like Prestashop much better than any of the others I've tried, and I installed a bunch. So I've taken the Prestashop plunge. The affiliate system still seems to be pretty young and probably won't be what most users are looking for quite yet, but here's a thread with more info:http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/23948/
ceriusx
If anyone would like to see Prestashop with all its features, fully integrated into Joomla cms, I will publish a link to my Joomla installation with Prestashop installed and NOT as a wrapper. radders
Yes I've like to see that! Can it be done in such a way that the cms contributors and shop customers are kept separate?
ceriusx
Yes, this is possible.
ceriusx
There are two options - you can either use shared login or keep the logins separate. If you use the shared login users will be registered in Joomla and the shop with the same login details.
