is there a map out there of what hte purpose of each tpl file is?
i was wondering if its possible to combine all the tpl files into one.
would make life alot easier.


also a map of all the hooks and what they do.


ps: ive created a full map of all the id and class elements of each item on prestashop. a full map for doing css.
i might release a css template soon full of comments to what each part is.

i just gotta figure out all the tpl files. why did the makes of prestashop make it like this? i dont see a purpose.

I think prestashop uses the smarty templating engine.. you can read about it here: http://www.smarty.net/

You might have noticed by now that some of the TPL files are sitting alongside their module file inside the module folder.

the purpose is quiet simple

because of this, using smarty and templates can be easy made for presta

without hurting the basic code of the shop software itself, by this it can not be massed up, while trying to change the look of your shop.

this is one of the great advantages presta has, beside other good new ways.

the template files basicly are responsible for the look of every displayed site

the global css is your main area where you can manipulate your outfit
