Remember custom attributes for each user

Hello,

 

I would like to set up a clothes shop where the user chooses sizes when they add products to cart (waist, neck, arms, legs, etc.). When they come back to the shop, these sizes should be remembered so that they're automatically filled in for the next product. How can I achieve this ?

I see there's multiple ways (core, modules, etc.) of adding custom attributes to products, but I need to be able to save the values of these attributes for each user.

I couldn't find a module that does this. I don't mind developing one but I'm not sure what the best technique would be.
