How create featured products on home page

I want to add some 'featured products' to the home page. I have the block in place but would like to know whether its possible to pull in existing products without having to reinput them into the home category from scratch.

hi if i understand you correctly, you want to put your existing product to featured products block.

 

For each product, go to the info page at the back office and check the home category under the 'defaut category' section. It will appear in the featured products block.
