Migrating to new them without losing product information

I still have the original prestashop theme. I want to purchase a theme, however, will I have to start all over from scratch? What happens to my categories and products that have already been added?

 

I tried to purchase a template from templatemonster, but they told me I would have to start all over, and it took me weeks to add the categories and few products that I have already.

products and categories are not associated to the theme in any way. you've added the products/categories in the back office and those are stored in your sites database. you can replace the theme without worrying about losing them.

 

as long as you did not make any custom changes to the theme's templates/css files, then there is really nothing to "lose".
