[SOLVED] how to force presta to make changes in website

Recommended Posts

I have this problem with my Prestashop 1.4.3....i made some changes in category tree and main page (the column in the middle with text etc.)...everything in administration seems normal but when i look at the website (customer point of view) - no change in week from modification in administration.

Anyone can help? The shop is still running and orders are going but i really need to make those changes.

Thanks for any help.

Hi sprajc,

There are two important things you can do in this situation. First of all, in your Back Office, please go to Preferences > Performance and turn on Force Compile and turn off Cache at the very top of the page.

Additionally, be sure to clear your browser's cache, and then you can reload the page.

If you do both of these steps, you should see all of your changes.

I hope this helps.

I did both steps and it didn't help.

I should mention it has been a week since i made changes and i tried viewing the page on several different computers.

I thought the database is disconnected somehow but in that case the changes wouldn't be stored in back-office too am I right?

I see exactly what you see - but i can't change it. I go to category edit page -> i change upper category of "Krátký rukáv" from "Trička" to "Home" and click to "Save" -> it shows me "update successfull" notification but it won't change and i could do it again and again with no result. =/

// Also in the stats page i always see the date "from: 2012-04-25 to: 2012-04-25" and i can't change that - i guess that is the date something gone wrong =/

No no sorry if i misled you - the structure of categories is like this

  • Home
    • Trička
      • Krátký rukáv
      • S cvoky
      • offsetový potisk

      [*]Dětská trička

and i need it like this:

  • Home

    • Krátký rukáv

    • S cvoky

    • offsetový potisk

    • Dětská trička

i hope i expressed myself properly this time ;)

OK thank you, that does clear things up a bit. Can you please also post a screenshot of where you are trying to do this?

I go to category edit page -> i change upper category of "Krátký rukáv" from "Trička" to "Home" and click to "Save" -> it shows me "update successfull" notification but it won't change and i could do it again and again with no result. =/

No problem:

I save this:

save.jpg

And i recieve this:

aftersave.jpg

But when I go back to category details, nothing has changed. So i guess there are some trouble with database connection (although i don't understand why notification doesn't say "update unsuccessful" in that case)

Yes it is! ....seriously I didn't make any other modifications in settings .... i guess some problems fix themselves ;)

It's possible that you hadn't yet cleared your smarty cache, but either way, I'm glad you were able to resolve this! I'll go ahead and mark this thread as solved for you. Happy selling!
