Teddy's Dad
Hello all I have just installed a template based on V1.4.7. When I go through admin->modules->administration->Autoupgrade module v0.3.1 and try to install it, I get the following error message: The following module(s) were not installed properly: autoupgrade There is no other error info to help me troubleshoot this. I have setup max permission on modules/autoupgrade folder. Can anyone advise on how to troubleshoot this? Many thanks Nima
Mike Kranzler
Hi Nima, Can you please delete the module via FTP and try again using the attached version? autoupgrade.zip -Mike
Teddy's Dad
Hi Mike Thank you for your reply and advice. unfortunately, it didn't work. I get exactly the same message. I even set the permission on the autoupgrade folder to 777 recursively. Would there be any log files showing more error detials about this. Regards Nima
helldog2004
Try this: Go to Modules and click on Add a module from my computer. Use Module URL and fill in this URL: http://www.prestashop.com/download/autoupgrade.zip After succesfully getting this auto upgrade search for it, and install it. That should work perfectly without hassle.. Cheers Helldog!
Teddy's Dad
Thanks Helldog Still, no joy. I have tried installing the module via admin->modules as well as manually. The module addition works fine, when I click on install, I get the same error. This is most bizzare. I was thinking of upgrading the site to the new 1.4.8.2 to see if that might also improve things. Do you think that might affect my template? Regards Nima
helldog2004
I can't say it will affect your template, and I just installed the newest version of PS and had no problems at all. But it might be your host aswell, did you gave all folders fully writable? Check screen cheers Helldog!
Teddy's Dad
Thanks Helldog We host our own server in data center, so I can change anything needed. The folder is fully writeable (777 for the whole "modules" folder). I am going to attempt the upgrade and see how it goes.
helldog2004
Yeah well it should not only be the modules folder as this will take more folders in affect. Make the root folder 777 for the time being untill things have been installed. See if this makes any changes. Cheers Helldog!
Teddy's Dad
Hi Helldog I managed to upgrade to 1.4.8.2 but still cannot install that module. I can live with that. I did end up doing a manual upgrade. Still, many thanks for trying to help me. Let me know if I can reciprocate. Regards Nima
helldog2004
Great I am happy things worked out. On the other hand, tell this problem to PS. With extra information as what kind of host/server you have with what kind of software installed on it. This might help to find a solution for this problem. Cheers Helldog! benjamin utterback
Hello andrew_oscar, what is the full error that you receive? Can you turn on error reporting in your config/config.inc.php line 29. Change Display Errors to "on"

Please be informed that it is unfeasible to update version of Prestashop using 1&1 Click and Build application since there are no permissions. However, you can try to install this application manually using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client. Similarly, provide us the requirements for the installation of the said application. This is to further check the issue. You can also refer to the links below: 1. What is the required information for an FTP connection? http://faq.1and1.com/web_space__access/ftp_account/4.html 2.
