Virtual products and combinations

Recommended Posts

Dear friends,

The possibility of add combinations in virtual products has been eliminated from v1.5.0.x. In release .9, it was possible but in latest revision (1.5.0.12), appears a message saying:

A virtual product cannot have combinations.

Could anyone help me?

Kind regards,

David

Is there a solution for having combinations with virtual products that doesn't cost $120?

I'm sorry, but having to pay for a feature that was part of PrestaShop and then removed, is just outrageous. Especially at $120. We just need to make combinations for our services / virtual products. No downloads. So that module does way more than we need.

PrestaShop was looking perfect until we discovered a they changed this and basically nerfed this for virtual merchants. Or is there a much cheaper or free module just for returning this feature?

I totally agree about not having to pay for a feature that existed and worked well and then was removed, however, this was never a part of prestashop.

They started working on it in an early 1.5 beta, and my guess is that it was never finished properly and therefore not added to the full version.

Our module was developed over a year ago, to help customers with different downloadable needs

Your free alternative would be to create separate products.

We don't have any downloads, though. Your module looks good for people who need all those options.

We simple just need to make combinations for our services / virtual products. I don't see any reason why they would have removed that ability. It's exactly the same as a physical good, the shipping is just different. The option should be there for people who don't have downloads.

Do you know of any module that actually simple just does that? Making a separate product for each means we would need another option besides PrestaShop.

Oh, the other ones are paid. And combinations are something the system can already do, so it isn't unrealistic to have thought virtual merchants wouldn't have to pay a lot extra for something other merchants get for free. We wouldn't have a problem paying for your module if we had too, but I see there is no refund option if we find PrestaShop doesn't stand up to our needs after fully testing it.

Thanks for your responses though. :)
