Mike Kranzler
Hi dcakis, All you need to do is lower the price in your catalog, and those products will be featured in the price-drop module. I hope this helps. -Mike

zootalaws
Bump! I also dropped the price of some items, as well as setting the 'on sale' flag, and nothing comes up as a special. In the future, instead of just posting "the issue was solved", it would be nice if an explanation of how it was solved was included...

led-watches.co.uk
To enable products to show in the Specials/PriceDrop you need to add and set a new Specific price which then overrides the base price. Enter the price it was and then input the discount either in % or by a deduction in the currency you use. Simply lowering your price wont do anything. Hope that makes sense.
eyecandy
this worked and was simple to understand http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/prestashop-16/set-pricing
blairradams
As led-watches.co.uk said above: Go to "Prices" in product Leave top banner alone with original price you set. Go to "Specific Prices" underneath and create the discount you want. Specials/Price Drop will auto populate on saving.
flyclothing
Yeah, I was having trouble figuring this out too. The rules of this should be broadened to make it easier to show specials/price drops. Here is what you have to change. You can also mark it on sale above by clicking on tab.
