shterss
hello guys, i am having a problem with modules. Prestashop has two module folders: in its root and in a template The problem is, now, i am editing HomeFeatured module, i´ve changed it to display products in random order and when i put file homefeatured.php to root/modules, it works, but when i put it in the template folder, it doesn´t work. What is the puzzle? Thanks for every help. i have PS 1.4.7.3 Edited May 11, 2012 by shterss (see edit history)
Mike Kranzler
Hi shterss, Leaving it in your root/modules directory is fine. That is where the file is needed in order to reflect your changes. I hope this helps. -Mike
shterss
Hi Mike, the problem is with for example copying template. Sometimes it is required to change a couple of modules, and i think it is not handy to copy everytime modules from root modules directory. Really Prestashop cannot handle it? Or I will ask this way. In template modules dir, there should be only translations and *.tpl files, and *.php are "taken into account" by prestashop only if they have been placed into root modules dir? Thanks. Dh42
Correct, in the template folder it does not read the php files.
