Install - can't advance past "DATABASE CONFIGURATION"

Recommended Posts

I am trying to install PrestaShop but I am stuck at the "Database Configuration" page.

I have set the database servername to : myserverworld.net without any www. I know my username and password so that bit is easy. However I am confused by "Database Name" I have set it to my username, but should it be a fully qualified name such as [email protected]?

When I click verify database there is a little spinning thing in the top right and it goes away. I do not get any error messages nor do I get a success message should I?

I have not changed "PrestaShop database tables prefix :" from the default do I need to?

I have tested the email and it works correctly.

When I click next, nothing happens, I cannot progress to shop configuration.

Same problem here.

1. Database connected and ok,
2. Email test ok - received on gmail, not received on yahoo - must be related to yahoo
3. PHP register global option is on, cannot change that right now, but it's only optional anyway.
4. Database name and username contain an "_" - this is from the hosting guys... also cannot be changed.

Still cannot advance past Database Configuration.

I should add: PHP version 5.2.9, MySQL version 4.0.27-standard

Great.... firebug is showing an error related to utf-8 support...

Unfortunately changing the provider and/or asking for utf-8 support is out of the question...

Is there any solution around this thing?

So it needs a newer MySql..., I cannot trick it.

Can I find maybe an older Prestashop version?

I had this problem also...but i read some where in this forum, the problem can be resolved by using opera browser. I did it and i was able to complete my installation. It sounds weird..but it really work. Try it.
My version of prestashop is Version 1.1.0.5
