mexique1
Hi everybody, Let me share with you a module created to make you love Smarty again : it's called {pan}, and once installed it registers several useful Smarty plugins, which will be available across your theme files. It aims to centralize the most common "hacks" a developer has to use to customize a theme out of PrestaShop mechanisms : Show/hide a template on certain pages Display modules on hooks that are not implemented by the module Store templates in database And more coming ! I know I'm not respecting forum rules as I'm not posting a direct link, but as long as this project is open source and relatively new, it could evolve quickly. Edited June 11, 2012 by Mike Kranzler Link removed: Please post a direct download file. (see edit history)

Mike Kranzler
Mexique, The rules are the rules, regardless of the intentions when it comes to not following them. I am moving this to the Paid section, but if you add the file(s) for download here I will be happy to move this thread back to the Free section. -Mike
Patric
And I would add that the rules are like that because in the past, a lot of people posted links to free modules/themes, and few days later turned these products to paid ones. This was a cute way to get links to paid modules in the free section. This is the reason why we now ask to directly post the file here. Thank you for your comprehension. mexique1
WTF ? Why did you move it to the PAID section ? {pan} is released under the MIT license. I have no plans to make it paid, in any case nobody would pay for that, and it would be completely idiot to make this kind of things paid... It is a general helper module. Now the MIT license doesn't avoid anybody to resell it, but it's not my business. I think I'm going to STOP making initiatives, as you guys don't encourage them. The rules are the rules Come on...
Mike Kranzler
These are the rules of the Free section of the forums, and we make this very clear. As Patric mentioned above, this is to prevent the kind of abuse that we tend to get here on the forums, and which users such as yourself report to us on a daily basis. As I mentioned in my post, I will be happy to move it back here once you include the file directly within the post itself. This is something on which we cannot compromise, but I hope you understand that this has nothing to do with the content of the file itself. This is a universal policy, one which we must enforce regardless of who posts it. I have removed and deleted posts from our moderators for the same reason. Since this is a free download, it should not be a huge concern to include it here on the forums. Once you do so, I'll be happy to move it back. -Mike
