Changing the ranking of products in a Category

I am quite new to Prestashop and want to know if there is a way of changing the product ranking in a category without having to use the up / down arrow keys.

 

This is OK if there are only a few products but if I say, add a new product to a category that already has 100 items, and want it to appear on the first page, it takes a long time to move it up to the top of the list.

 

Additionally, if I want to change the order of several products within a category, this process becomes a logistical nightmare.

 

Any ideas???

When it comes to the criteria for ordering products within a category in particular, you can change that from the back office: Preferences tab>Products sub-tab>Default order by drop-down menu.
