eddieuk
I need to use several shipping options:UKRoyal Mail: 1st Class Delivery(For small packets)Up to 1kgUKRoyal Mail: Special Delivery(For small packets)Up to 1kgUKRoyal Mail: Standard Parcels(For large box's)Over 1kgRoyal Mail: International(For foreign deliveries) (Set up for other zones)I also have multiple weight ranges. For certain items over 1kg I need to send via the Standard Parcel delivery. However the other weight ranges from the other carriers still appear, which means customers can use the cheaper options that are not applicable. From what I can gather there is no way around this. Am I right?

Have you read this one?http://www.daveegerton.com/CMS/Prestashop-Administrators-Guide/Shipping.htmlLet me know! Sorry I forgot to explain that I already have this setup online. So I do understand the shipping wiki's.For an order of over 1.1kg:In the UK shipping options all 3 carriers show up when only one is meant to (The Parcel One). The two carriers (Reordered - Special) only go up to weight range 1kg, but they appear for some reason. Do you know why?

first1
I can see that your setup is right , thanks for attaching the snapshots; however, I think that all 3 might show up but only one is selectable to user. for that order (1.8kg) The other 2 will show up but they cannot be selected, is that the case? please confirm.Try this:Back office ==> SHipping==>Carriers==>Edit (each one)==> Goto Out-of-range behavior (in the bottom of the page) ==> Set it to disable carrier.Let me know , did that solve it? eddieuk
I just tried it on mine, it worked, so it shoudl work for you (i meant the setting that i have given you). please let me know I could kiss you! Many thanks. It works now. I had to re-install my shop after the beta Presta upgrade destroyed it. So that setting was not reapplied from my database backup. You have saved me a lot of trouble. I can go ahead with my advertising campaign tonight (this morning). Many thanks for all your help.I have just discovered a new problem now though. The shipping cost does not appear until after the shipping method has been selected. It appears as £0.00. Yet another problem! Have you ever experienced this? One of my customers actually told me that the shipping was not showing up a while ago, I didn't believe them, appears I was wrong. It has worked for me until I selected that out of range behaviour. first1
You are saying that after you selected the disable carrier, you dont see the shipping cost until they user chose it? You lost me now, or maybe it is me trying to think at 3am lolTry to explain more, you see how much i liked you snapshots earlier lolWhen i understand, i can help! so i will leave it to you to explain.Marketing campain, I am interested in that, maybe i would need some your experience with that lol (pm me)
eddieuk
Its back to displaying £0.00 in the shipping cost section of the shopping cart until after the customer logs in and clicks next on the shipping page. It then adds the correct shipping cost on the payment page and then the correct charge also appears in the shipping cost section of the cart, weird. This means the customer will feel cheated. Don't know why its happening, but it appears and goes away at its own will.Yeah if you need any help at e-marketing just give me a buzz and I will help you. Over 1kg and it disappears from cart.Has anyone else encountered this? I’ve just thought of something. My default carrier is Royal Mail recorded. After 1kg that option is no longer available. is that why it's disappearing from cart?

eddieuk
Just tried shipping for a product at 0.08kg and it has given the Parcel option! Along with the other two carriers. This whole shipping by weight does not work. Thinking about scrapping it altogether
first1
why dont you do it with one carrier, i mean just oneand still have weight ranges and priceslike 0->1-->5-->30 with different price for each. in that case that default one carrier will always show and will calculate the price.do you really need that crap 2nd class RM? its less headaches for you

The delivery time is different. Then I send out parcels for heavier items and they have different delivery times. I can't give customers the wrong delivery times, so I have to use multiple carriers....The postal products are different sizes also. In the UK all postage is now calculated by size as well as weight. So it makes it even more vital that I use multiple carriers.
first1
OK, i suggest that you summarise what does now work (the real bug) and make very clear and report it above in the http://www.prestashop.com/bug_tracker/

mnrbig
Hi eddieukI have the same issue. The correct shipping is only displayed once you have proceed to the payment section. The cart seems to use the default option untill you reach the point in the checkout that requires you to choose the shipping option. Can you not simply state on your website that shipping will be calculated at the time of checkout? Thanks for your response. The reason why it would be difficult to state that shipping will be calculated at the payment page is because for orders under a certain weight the shipping works fine in the cart. So some customers that add more than one item might feel a bit cheated. Also for orders under 1kg the postal option of parcels is available when it should not be, because its only setup for over 1kg. So that is an annoying bug also.

roastchicken
HiDid anyone sort this problem out ? As I'm also having the same issue.I've defined two carriers. When the first carrier weight is exceeded the cart is meant to use the second carrier. But instead the cart displays £0. Only when I goto the payment page the correct shipping cost is displayed.Hope someone can help, using Version 1.2.5.
