tivicrdotcom
Hello fellows, So I am doing this florist shop in Central America and I will only deliver in 7 cities. Here are the escenarios; Scenario #1 Here we have the 7 attributes which show a pre-determined weight. The attributes are the cities where we only do delivery to. This way I can limit the shipping to this 7 cities. Scenario #2 Here I have the fees set by weight which shows attribute "Alajuela" falling into the 14-15 kg range. "Alajuela" shows an additional 4,000 in shipping when products added to the cart fall within its weight range. Senario #3 Here the customer purchases the product and selects the attribute "Alajuela" as delivery, so the sytems should associate the attribute with its weight and add the 4,000 to the shipping. At what point the association is missing? It could be a bug, but if I do and increase in price per attribute then it works because if the customer selects Alajuela and I have set to increase price by 4,000 it would show the price adjustment. I could do it this way but I don't want the customer to see a product price increase based on location, rather an increase in shipping charges. Thanks, AJ Edited May 6, 2012 by tivicrdotcom (see edit history)
tivicrdotcom
I have spent time trying to figure it out, but can't figure out why this association doesn't work. Anyone with a clue? regards, AJ
tivicrdotcom
So what I figured out is that if you use attributes to determine shipping increases (rates), the weight ranges must be in 5kg/lb increments, otherwise it doesn't work. I don't know why, but before I had the weight ranges as 0-3kg, 4-5kg, etc and was always getting the highest shipping rate. Now once I made the correction it changes accordingly to the range weight. I have to see yet if the customer gets to see at some point the total weight so it doesn't create confusion by him seeing and huge weight on a small product. Pura Vida!
