Cannot install modules

Hi everytime I try to install a module I get:

 

Error while extracting module (file may be corrupted).

 

I have checked permissions on the module directories they are at 755, using php 5.2.9 and centos 6.2 64 bit

Which module were you trying to download?

Try unzipping the module to your computer, then upload the the folder to the modules folder using your FTP program.

Then go to modules in the back office and see if it shows up in the modules list, if so you can now install it.

Yes that worked I am wondering why it isn;t doing it autoimatically via the upload.

This is a common problem. The problem is that zip file contains two subfolders with the name of module, instead of only one
