Where do I add code for a site statistics script?

Where do I add code for a site statistics script? What file do I edit to place the code for extremetracking?

 

I tried to place it in the footer.tpl and the index.php file but the code does not work.

 

Please help.

You can try to use THIS module. It allows you to insert arbitrary text or HTML and hook it to over 30 locations

So there is no file I can just insert the code into? Why will this not work for Prestashop?

There are a lot of files, and footer.tpl should work too... [Try to: force compile - yes, cache - no; in BackOffice->Performance tab]

As for me it's better to add code to module so after theme update i don't have to copy/paste that code again
