innocuous
Hi, How do we go about upgrading a live site to new versions of Prestashop? What will be downtime and will it break anything? Whats the best way to go about this. A live site means constant data being added to db, access to pages etc. Nothing has to break or errors generated. Thanks
bellini13
I can offer my services to test the upgrade process and then perform it on the live site for you. I do charge for my services and I would need to details of your site in order to determine the effort and cost associated with it. If you are interested please send me a PM and we can discuss the details. You can read more about the upgrade process here http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS14/Updating+PrestaShop
Bazze
If you'd like to do it yourself, I'd recommend setting up a complete copy of your shop and perform the update on that one and see how it goes. When you are sure how to do it and know what will be needed to fix afterwards, you set your live shop in maintenance mode and perform the upgrade. Mike Kranzler
Hi innocuous, I would strongly urge you not to upgrade a live site. Any time you make changes, it is important that you take some time to confirm that everything is working properly before making it visible to your customers. -Mike
