Floobynooby
Hi just to say I love the prestashop software, and installed our nice new site 2 days ago, but have had to take it back down today due to user accounts. In just 2 days we had a 63% drop in sales because of user accounts which really surprised me considering our old site doesn't have any of the functionality of PrestaShop, but it does have a one click payment. I'm not sure if this is something that is planned for the next release or if there is any way of re routing users to make a payment even if it means the order is not stored in the back end but just gets you a confirmation from paypal. Any response would be appreciated.
-=seth=-
had your stats dropped, sometimes when you make massive changes to a site it can effect your indexing with the search engines, its not permanent but it takes awhile for them to reassess your site. also were all your urls identical can people still find the original pages, had you put redirects up, are your error logs showing people trying to find the old urlsprestas checkout is a big problem but it may not be responsible for all of the drop in sales, i would check your stats to see if there was a corresponding drop in visitors
Floobynooby
Hi the result isn't form changing software, as the old site is still up and linked to the prestashop site (have lost no pages indexed in the search engines they are all still live, just added more), its just that looking at the prestashop stats 63% of visitors left the site at the login stage and the orders the site takes are reflected in the drop. Older customers who have bookmarked an older page have just been using the old site which is still up and buying as normal (in the background), it just seems people don't like setting up accounts. So for now I have just swapped back over to the old site, prestashop is still running in the background until I figure out what to do.
