Store Locator not functional

Recommended Posts

I wonder why Prestashop guys still includes this module in their software. This is useless,.....I saw a opened bugtracker related to this and a few topics saying that's not working.

I just upgraded to 1.4.7.3 hoping this was repaired but...no luck....Maybe in next release (I"m still waiting for this function to work).....or someone out there found the fix for this???

thanks...

Hi,

It might be a jquery conflict. I run 2 shops in the same VM. At site www.kreative-vielfalt.com/kvshop (ps ver. 1.4.7.3) the store locator works well (it also did with 1.4.6.2 and 1.4.7.0). At site www.kreative-vielfalt.com/kvsite (ps ver. 1.4.7.0) the store locator doesn't work. Main differences between sites are that the second uses a slider and sound effects that uses jquery libraries. I haven't spent time to track down the issue by deinstalling some modules. So at the moment it's just a hypothesis.

Hi Mike,

No ..it doesn't work with WalterPS' suggestion. I've uninstalled the homepage slider which is the only who uses jquery..but no luck!!!

Any other suggestion???

For all good sake...please remove this module from PS until is reprogrammed... it's clearlly that's not working 100% fine...

PS is very good in generally but with this kind of modules..you only make users angry....

Hi Slumdog,

I've run multiple tests on fresh installations of multiple versions of PrestaShop (1.4.7.0-1.4.7.3), and have been unable to replicate this error. PrestaShop is open source, and there is no way to fully guarantee 100% compatibility with every module, theme and code change floating around the internet, especially if they are not developed by our team or at least submitted for validation and approval to the Addons store. While I strongly believe that this is not an issue with PrestaShop's software specifically, if you believe that this is truly a bug, I would invite you to post a report here to get our development team to look into this for you. If it is in fact a bug, they will go ahead and fix it for the entire community.

Hi,

I just want to note, that I was wrong with my presumption.

In my php log I found the following line:

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'Unable to load template file 'E:\htdocs\kvsite/themes/kvsite/store_infos.tpl'' in E:...

So this means in this template the tpl file "store_infos.tpl" was missing which causes to show up the map but no store ca be found.

Don't know if that could be the reason for your shop also, slumdog (probably not if you are using the original template, if not it's might worth a check).
