"Categories block (top) v1.0" module combatibility issue with IE

I use Presta alternative theme, after updating PS from 1.4.7.0 to 1.4.7.2, although there is no problem with Chrome and Firefox, Internet Explorer does not show the 'Categories block (top) v1.0' correctly.

 

Same problem with this at Foro en Español.

 

I know that this is not Prestashop's issue, but IE compatibility problem. I would like to ask if there is any modification to "blockcategoriestop" module which we can do in order to appear correctly on IE.

Checking "Keep W3C validation" at BO > Preferences > Performance solved that issue.
