[SOLVED] Easy method to move files from /shop/ to root directory

Recommended Posts

Hi,

originally set up this site for a freind and he wanted it on its own sub directory of /shop/ but now he wants to move it to be the main website and I need to look at moving it. Is it just a case of copying the files up one level?

Are there any path statements I need to edit or config files I need to delve into? Can you suggest any gotchas or things to look out for?

TIA

Can I move files from one folder to another folder on the same level?

Yes, although be careful doing this. You don't want to move files where they will not be called properly, but you can move them just like you would on your own system.

Hi Mike,

I tried that but the result was not as expected. I don't think I explained things well enough.

I have a folder called prestashop. In it are all my store files. I tried creating another folder called rhinocadstore at the same level as the prestashop folder and copied the files.

When I call the store from this new folder it still puts the path /prestashop on the address line. What I was hoping for, was it to change to /rhinocadstore in the address bar. I want to do this for SEO reasons.

Thanks

Bill

Why don't you just rename the /prestashop folder to /rhinocadstore?
