NickVH
Hello, I have installed prestashop and it's an amazing piece of software. But I'm having trouble setting it up to sell something other than physical products. We are a hosting company and our business model is to rent out servers in a data center. We can list our servers just fine as products, but when a customer buys one we aren't going to ship a server out to them. I think I have to set it as a download product to get around prestashop thinking it needs to be shipped, but there is nothing to download. Looking for help on this. Let me know if I need to explain anything else. Thanks
Mike Kranzler
Hi NickVH, It's a little roundabout, but have you tried disabling all but one shipping option and renaming that remaining option as "Receive this information by Email" or something similar? -Mike
NickVH
Could you go into more detail Mike? I tried that but when you go through the checkout process it then says that there are no carriers for the region.
Dh42
Nick, Set them to download and add a file, like you would with a normal download. Then edit out in the templates where you download files from the user area. Just go through like a customer and any reference you see to download, comment it out. If you want to get fancy you can add a couple of if statements that check whether or not it is a hosting product and then does not display them in the template. That would be best for if you plan on selling downloadable products later. On a side note, have you looked into WHMCS, it is really what you need as it can create hosting accounts on your server and register domain names through the api.
