Ganimast
I'm about to start working on a website for custom guitars using Prestashop. Before I get into and find out it won't work, I want to make sure it CAN work. I've read through the forums and haven't found any answers quite like my situation. I have the customer start with an empty guitar that costs $0, and they choose between 15 and 20 different categories of options such as: -Body Material -Neck Material -Bridge Design -Pickups -Body Type (tons more) But also, I need each of these to have up to 20 different options, e.g.: Body Material -Basswood (add $200) -Alder (add $220) -Mahogany (etc) (18 variations) Bridge Design -Strat Fixed -Strat Tremolo -Locking -Wraparound (etc) Each of these wood materials must have their own prices that add up in the basket. Is Prestashop able to do this? Right now I'm using a crappy free website builder that can do this, just not in a "pretty" fashion. (http://www.freewebstore.org/GanimastGuitars/product/buycustom) Any help is much appreciated!
Dh42
In theory it can be doe. I do not know of any limits in the products that would stop it. But with that many I would test one or two out before I built the site. Also one thing that is depressing to think about is you will have to create an option for every possible product. So you are essentially looking at 2020 which would be close to 2000000000000000000000 combo's per product.

phrasespot
I'm about to start working on a website for custom guitars using Prestashop I really feel for you. I am currenltly maintaining a site of a client who builds custom guitars. Here is a screenshot from a worksheet that was done prior to selecting PS. In my case there were 155 attributes with 3-12 values in each attribute. All of that had to be thrown out because as soon as you specify the 6th attribute of the guitar (with maybe 4 values each) PS will came to a standstill, BO will die. As says, the growt is geometric. We ended up with a custom built application merged into PS to handle the quotes for everything from string gauge to rosette type. Do not put your, or your client's, hopes up and tell your client to choose the most important 4 attributes of the guitars with 3-4 values in each attribute if you want PS to manage it.
