how to impede virtual products from counting for free shipping

Recommended Posts

I have free shipping for orders >25€ but I don't want the virtual products to count for the free shipping.

My clients would have to spend 25€ in normal products to get the free shipping, independently of the amount spent in virtual goods, which are not shipped.

The other way around could be to impede normal products from being added to the cart if a virtual product is already added. But this way clients would have to buy twice...

Thanks

That would be the logical thing to do, isn't it. Not possible w/o changing a lot of core code. Open an improvement (arguably bug) ticket at the tracker and post the link here so others can vote on it.

This is even more involved. I am not sure if you would get a solution here. Try job offers and paid services forum if you can afford, hope your ticket is voted on and implemented soon otherwise.

Yep, it is like that in latest development version. Virtual products count towards free shipping quota. Otherwise I would have said "consider updating to version x.x.x which solves this problem". You could still ask for the improvement though and by the time it is done you may be planning to update :) You're welcome.
