pubguv
Hi all Have been testing my shop on my personal wamp server with no problems. Have now attempted a fresh install on my hosted server but the install hangs at step 3. The Db connects ok but when I click next I am left on the same page. Any suggestions? Regards J edit: Have noticed on the previous page: PHP magic quotes option is off (recommended) X So I have asked my hosting company to turn theis option off, could this be the problem? Scotty501
Who do you host with? I have been helping another member with the same problem with no resolution as yet. The magic quotes did work for another member I helped with the same problem. The latter has quotes off - and still can't get pass the same step. Asked the host, naturally they says it's not them. I will post and update - but would appreciate if you could do the same as this seems to be a common problem.
pubguv
Hi My host is 123-reg.co.uk. Odd thing is when I install on wamp I had the same config warning but everything installed ok. I've deleted the db, and all the files and tried a fresh install this morning but problem still remains, the db is there and I can see the shop front but no access to the admin section as I've not been able to progress to step 3; shop configuration. Maybe there's an sql script I could use to add an admin to the db?
pubguv
Just had a look at the installation log and there is one error listed: *ERROR* 2012/03/25 - 17:29:55: A Prestashop database already exists, please drop it or change the prefix. which is odd as I had dropped the db. pubguv
SOLVED After much research the problem was corrupt files in my zip archive. Solution: Delete my local Prestashop files Delete all Prestashop files from my hosted server Download a new copy of Prestashop and extract locally Upload Prestashop to my hosted server Drop my database Run the install script @ http://www.yourstore.com I have now been able complete the install.
