It's meant only for testing and giving feedback to the Prestashop team, as well as preparing your themes/modules ahead of the release if you're a developer. It might seem fine on the surface, but you'll run into a web of problems eventually. You'll need to use 1.4 for now and upgrade once the 1.5 RC (Release candidate) is available.
