External Links: Are they possible and how?

Recommended Posts

In almost any other platform, such as joomla, drupal, wordpress, etc etc etc, its pretty easy to put a url link almost anywhere.

My issue is this. Prestashop is so content poor, that to do SEO effectively I believe I need a companion blog. No problem there..did a wordpress blog in 5 minutes.

But then I found out its hard to link to.

I added a CMS page in the right column, thats fine. But the link opens a CMS page, then the user must click on the link in the PAGE to go to my blog. Thats definitely awkward.

Anyone have any ideas? or is this above PS's capabilities?

Mick

P.S. All I'd like to do is directly link to my blog from my home page, as makes the most sense.

Yes this is possible and very easy, there are several ways you can add external links.

Under modules/ front office features there is a module named link block this as the name implies a block that you can put your own links and can be on right or left of page.

You can also add your own text with links anywhere that you use a text area such as product descriptions, home text editor, you would click on the HTML icon in the edit section above the text area.

You will need to know how to format a correct href link.

Need more help just ask.
