CraftyPenny
Hello, I am looking for a way to have a product combination have a specific shipping cost. I see that currently, it is possible to increase the price or weight in terms of a fixed cost, but I need to specifically add the cost on to shipping. One way I was thinking was to use "false" weights, such that a combination costing $40 would add a weight of 40, and a combination costing $60 would add a weight of 60. I could then configure the weight ranges for a default carrier to have the same shipping cost as the weight, such that a weight range of 60lbs would have a cost of $60. This wouldn't cause an issue with other modules, because the client will be using their own shipping methods and just needs to see which products were ordered. The weights are irrelevant, as long as the customer is billed correctly for the product combination cost and shipping. However, even with the use of a SQL script to generate, say, 1000 possible weight ranges, and link them to equivalent costs, this seems much too complicated. Is there an alternate, easier way to accomplish what I am seeking? Thank you.
