Default logo.jpg needs to be logo.gif

I wonder if someone can help me. I want to change the default logo from .jpg to .gif

How can I do this so and then will update across all pages.

I hate .jpg as it distorts the images

Edit the header.tpl file and alter the code in that file.

Hi,

I changed the code in the header.tpl to use .gif image but I found I had to upload the logo.gif file directly onto my server. Updating it through the back office does not work.

Is there another way to do this? I want to make sure that the logo.gif carries through to everything such as emails.
