1.0 to 1.1 Upgrade Problems: Paypal, GoogleCheckout and Missing Categories

Hi All

I have hit a few problems with the upgrade process. I followed the upgrade instructions on the wiki to the letter and I have also searched and searched the forum but I still have the following problems.

Just to clarify, if I use the default theme, everything works fine, if I move to my theme, then I have problems.

1. Categories Missing

The categories are not being displayed in the categories block. If I check the source code, they are there, they are just not visible.

Possible Solutions
I have searched the forums and found a workaround for this is to disable dynamic categories in the categories block. This is okay, the categories display but we have a massive list so it is far from ideal. All other posts seem to link back to the post with the workaround and there does not seem to be any other solutions out there.

I tried updating the categories.tpl file from the new theme to my theme and that did not resolve the issue.

2. Paypal and Google Checkout does not work

If we go through the checkout process, the paypal and google checkout links do not do anything. The bankwire and cheque options work fine.

Possible Solutions
I have searched in vein and it seems there are a few posts that reference this problem but they are in french. I have tried to pick my way through these to see if I can make sense but am really struggling.

I have tried updating all the order_*.tpl files from the 1.1 default theme across to my theme and that has not helped. I also tried updating all the javascript in the themes/prestashop/js folder into the my themes js folder and that has not worked.

Summary

So, I have had a real good crack at this and have been working on it for best part of 10 hours yet I just can't seem to get to the bottom of the problems.

So, this is my most desperate hour and I am having a bit of a Princess Leia moment:

with respects to the block categories error, the problem is that th javascript code that controls the dynamic category tree is missing from your js folder, if you copy that to your server again that should fix it. i'll look into the other errors

It occurs with PS 1.2.0.4 Categories Block of PS default theme. I only made a language update in order this problem show itself to me! If I disable the dynamic mode of the block, the problem is solved. Something to say about it?
