patrmich
Hi, When I add product, one by one, in Prestashop Back Office, Prestashop chooses itself the ID number of the new product (same thing for new category) Is there a way to choose myself the ID number of a new product or category ? I know that one way can be to add product or category by importing a csv file, but I wonder whether another simpler way is available ? Thank you in advance for any help in this matter. olea
It's not possible. The IDs are automatically defined when the products (or categories) are added to the database
patrmich
Hi, Thank you for your reply. I have already created several categories from the Prestashop admin. For some reasons, I would like to amend the category id. As you said, this amendment is not possible through the Prestashop admin. So, I tried to do it from phpmyadmin. There, I just edited the category and modified the id category number. But when I come back to Prestashop admin : - the previous id category still exist and is empty - I cannot find the category made on phpmyadmin. Would you have any advice to give me in this matter ? Thank you in advance for any reply. Patrick
Intra
Hi, I tried the webservice, and it is not possible, but using the CMS import module, the ID numbers problem is fixed! In your case, you have some problems, because you may have updated the ID number in only one table, check the database model to know where to update all the ID numbers in the right tables. You can find it there: db_prestashop.jpg It's a late reply btw Edited June 26, 2012 by Intra (see edit history)
