istox
Hello! I have upgraded my store to 1.4.7 version. And now I have the error on 60% of products. I can't delete them. The prestashop gives error. 1. Unable to delete product. error 1. Before 1.4.7 I was using 1.4.3, and everything worked well. I have 1200 products and 1100 orders. What to do now if I really need to delete old products? Turn off the product working but it is not good for me.
Mike Kranzler
Hi istox, I'm guessing the products you cannot delete are the headphones and the iPod Touch, correct ? This is due to the sample order by John Doe in your Orders tab. Open that order and cancel those products, and you will be able to delete them. I hope this helps. -Mike
istox
Nope, I have upgraded store from 1.4.3 to 1.4.7 and I have 1100 orders. I need to search and filter all orders for 100 products that I need to delete? What a miracle in 1.4.7....
Mike Kranzler
Hi istox, This should only be the case for orders that have yet to be completed. For example, if someone placed an order for one of those products you're looking to delete and it is still awaiting check payment, then you would be unable to delete it until the order is complete. -Mike
istox
Nope. All orders marked as Delivered, Shipped (the last) and Canceled.
istox
Why there is no opportunity - JUST DELETE the product, like in previous versions I see that who wants to upgrade working one shops it will be quiet difficult to use if you need to delete permanently your products. Mike Kranzler
Hi istox, This is not an error I've seen before. Could you by chance post a screencast illustrating this issue so that I can look into this further for you? -Mike
istox
Here you are the screenshot. I put config.php Display error to ON. Nothing new appears now.
istox
I can delete some products. But some products (about 50%) I can't delete. There is still an error. And I found in statistic of each product that this product was never sold! And even of that I can't delete it
istox
I duplicated the products which I can't delete. The duplicated products deleted very well. Original still can't be deleted. Please advise how I can delete products from DB MyPHPadmin by products ID Or may be I need to set permissions for folders or files on server? Mike Kranzler
Hi istox, If you're looking to delete products from your database, they will be in the various ps_product tables, depending on what values you have populated for each one. -Mike

TWDesign
I had a similar error in 1.4.7 I think the error message was a little different though. Just a vague "an error occured" in red (note to PS core developers - please add more descriptive error messaging!) I was able to resolve it by going to the Orders tab and "cancelling" the products for John Doe as described above.

It might be the cause of first deleting john doe as a client and deleting the products, before deleting the orders........does anybody know the solution? agilewebsolutions
I have the same problem, and i really dont like when systems try to choose the best solution for me. And if the system does a check on why I cant delete it, then write why in the error message. I have not even published my site and i cant delete the default items, not good. ON DELETE CASCADE. istox
The default items can be deleted in the beginning. Go to Orders tab, find the order with these products and then you can remove products from the order. After that you can simply delete products from catalog. In the matter of fact this situation really annoying. And for me (I've done upgrade from 1.4.3 to 1.4.7 with 1500 products and 1500 orders) and now I can't delete the products from the Back office. I need to go to PHP My Admin all time. Very fat minus to Presta!
