change background color of sub category image

Hi,

How do I change the background color of a sub category image? For example, I added an image to a sub category. Since the background is 500 x 150, every time I add an image, there are white areas on both sides of the image. What do I need to change to make the color on both sides another color, or is my only option to make the sub category image 500 x 150?

SInce no one seems to be able to help, I did upload a 500 x 150 image, and it fits perfectly. What I do not understand, is how prestashop makes the category images. All I see, is once I upload the image, it is created in the images/c path. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. I really would like to make the background a certain color, than making all my category images 500 x 150.

Back Office Preferences Images

 

There you can set the size of images, look for your category size.
