aprops
Hello there - just wasted two days of my life. I had to do a reinstall of ps and lost my theme which was installed (just beginning, so no database loss or anything)... i have been trying to reinstall theme for two days and keep recieving an error - "An error has occurred during the file upload" I am doing an 'archive file' import, using the .zip file of the theme - I also tried uploading through filezilla and maybe I just don't know what the heck I am doing, but although there are dozens of references to this error online, noone has posted a solution that workds for me. Obviously it is not going to work through the themeinstaller, can someone point me in the direction of a comprehensive step-by-step to do this through ftp, or any other way? I think I could have created my entire site in these past two days - should've posted here earlier, but i kept thinking I was one click away from a solution !! Thanks so much - AProps
Mike Kranzler
Hi AProps, To install your theme via FTP, please follow these steps: 1. Download the theme and unzip it on your computer. 2. Upload the entire (unzipped) folder to your /themes directory via FTP 3. In your Back Office, go to Preferences > Appearance, select your new theme near the bottom of the page and click "Save" 4. Clear your browser's cache and enable Force Compile to ensure you're seeing the latest version of your site. That should do it for you! Please let me know if that works for you. -Mike

Mike Kranzler
What theme are you using exactly? And where did you download it? -Mike
aprops
Hi again - It is this one - I have nothing against the ones here, but after an exhaustive search, this was exactly what I wanted. http://prestadesigner.com/portfolio/furnitureshop-premium-prestashop-theme/ I am installing it into my public_html/themes I also just tried uploading the entire zip file there and unzipping it, to no avail... It did install before - I didn't do it though, and want to figure this out.. Thanks very much!
Mike Kranzler
Hi AProps, Have you tried contacting the developer directly? Since you purchased this directly from his site, there's not much I can suggest, but he's an active member of these forums so you shouldn't have too much difficulty contacting him. I hope this helps. -Mike
