aalexandros
Hi to All, I have noticed that in every category, the products' description in the main page are: or quite short, or there are just 2-3 words in some others and then '...' or none! However, when you click on the product, then you may see both the short and the detailed descriptions. Does anyone know what might be happening? See my attachment. Mike Kranzler
Hi aalexandros, When you create a new product, there are two text fields: Short Description and Long Description. The Short Description shows up at the top of the Product page, but also displays the text in that small area on the Category page. The Long Description is only listed at the bottom of the Product page. If you do not fill out any information for the Short Description, you will not get any text on the Category page. I hope this helps. -Mike

Reiskanen
how that affects search engines, if the short-and long-description contains the same text? Can I remove a short description of the product page?

davers44
how that affects search engines, if the short-and long-description contains the same text? Can I remove a short description of the product page? I have this same doubt, I usually fill the full description first then copy and past the first few lines into the short description. Anyone like me or is that hurting SEO?
