duotecnia
Hello every body! I'm new in this Forum and also newbie using prestashop. My website takes long time to load and I don't know what can I do. My website is www.duotecnia.com and I'm using kioscalia.com and kioscalia.es just for test purposes. In kioscalia.com I only have prestashop 1.4.7 just installed In kioscalia.es and duotecnia.com I have evo mobile template installed.under 1.4.6.2 Very often, Kioscalia.com and duotecnia.com takes 10 to 12 seconds just for start loading. I did some test in pingdom.com with same result. http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ So probably something is wrong. In the attached picture you can see the configuration (same in 3 sites). I also started to use cloudflare.com. First I tought that the problem maybe was the template but I checked the demo site: http://prestademonst...le_evolution/2/ And is really fast. Can you give me some recomendations? I want the same speed as in the demo website. Actually my hosting is Dreamhost shared, can you give some recomendations about really fast hosting (with servers in Spain or Europe)? Thank you very much! And sorry for my misspellings! Carl Favre
Hi duotecnia, Have you checked in preferences\performances that cache is on ? Forced Compilation is set to No?
duotecnia
Hi Carl, thanks for you answer. In Smarty, force compile is disabled and cache is enabled. CCC everything enabled except "High risk thml compression" (I get some problems in IE) In caching, I tried to use both (memcached and file system), but don't work. Maybe I should investigate that with dreamhost?
Carl Favre
Yes, you should ask your webhost about it. Even for a shared hosting, it is slow.

Carl Favre
Hi amkashif, Same question, you do not have Cache set to off and Forced compilation set to on in preferences/performances?
Mike Kranzler
Hi duotecnica, I just took a look at this for you, and your site appears to be loading very quickly for me now. Can you please confirm that this is the case on your end as well? Once you do so, I will be happy to mark this thread as solved for you. -Mike
duotecnia
Hi Mike, I solved de problem, now memcached is enabled and I'm really happy with the speed. Amkashif, to enable memcached with dreamhost, is very easy. But will not work in "shared" account. You should upgrade to VPS or dedicated server. Just download putty and follow the dreamhost wiki instructions about memcached: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Memcached
