ezfixny
Hello there ! After several days of fighting with USPS module I managed to get it pass production server and it actually working .....well not quite. Here is my problem. For some reason I can't get it working correctly and let me explain what I mean by that. Let's say I select in Shipping / Carriers a default carrier it's not working at all, no matter how I tried I can't get First class mail to be first in the list but if this was only problem. Let's say I am selecting REGULAR rate first class, priority and express. when I am testing only 2 shoing up. first class and priorite ..so where is express ? Okay how about IF I want to put First class, parsel post and media ...nope, sometimes it can show me only first class sometimes I see nothing at all. Basically something is really wrong. I tried to reinstall it and stuff ..nothing. So any thoughts on this ? Cause right now I got First class and Priority shoing when I have express and media mail selected as well. but at list it's showing something not in order I want but at list something. So if possible please help on this issue.
Never_give_up
I am working with 1.4.7 - Here's what I figured out. You have to get it right the very 1st time installing or it will never work right. The module doesn't delete what it's suppose too when uninstalling it. In the database under ps_carrier the module leaves USPS service ID's and tables behind, they have to be deleted manually or it won't work right the next time you install it. It also leaves duplicate info if you keep installing and uninstalling. It will also recreate new and duplicate USPS service IDs in ps_carrier which confuses the module. The database has to be cleaned out manually of all USPS tables, USPS info, and USPS duplicates before installing it again, especially in ps_carrier. If you do this make sure you back-up your database before deleting anything. Just incase you delete something you should not of you can quickly put it back the way it was. When you install the USPS module again after cleaning the database make sure ALL information is exactly correct before clicking the configure/submit button, user ID, zip code, which services you are going to use. It seems to work well with these settings: Packaging Size: Regular, Packaging Type: Variable, Machinable: False, and "All items in one package" as the defaults once that's all correct click the configure/submit button. Once it's working don't change it or it will mess up the database again and stop working correctly and you will have clean the database and install USPS again. Packaging weight seems okay to edit but leave the rest alone. Also I noticed if you change any settings in the shipping tab under Carriers in any of the USPS services and click save, it will recreate new IDs for those services and mess the whole thing up again. The services will then disappear from the front office and will never be seen again until you uninstall USPS, delete the leftovers in the database and then install USPS again. So once it's working don't change anything and it will be fine. It's a touchy and very sensitive module. The way it should work is First Class mail will not show up in the front office unless the product weight in the product listing and the packaging weight in the USPS Module equals less then 13 oz (0.8125 LBS). First Class mail only goes up to 13oz. If over 13oz then the module will only show Parcel Post (if you have it on) instead of First Class Mail. Priority and Express mail should always show if you have them on. Also make sure under shipping tab in carriers under First Class Mail the setting "Out of range behavior" is set to "Disable carrier" so when your product weighs more then 13oz then First Class Mail will not show up with Parcel Post and the others you have on. I had to do this setting directly in the database by changing 0 to 1 under ps_carrier/range_behavior so the back office wouldn't make new carrier IDs and mess it up because of the bugs. If they are not showing up as it should and you have them turned on then it's the database that's confused and you have to clean it then install USPS again. If you're using UPS or FED-EX with USPS and you only want to ship USPS for under 13oz then make sure FED-EX and UPS have the setting "Out of range behavior" is set to "Disable carrier" also so they will only show up over 13oz. I finally have all the shipping modules working live as they should. Hope this helps, Edited August 6, 2012 by Never_give_up (see edit history)
ccollins
Thanks for you information. I am afraid this product is going to be more trouble than its worth. I use the Multiple Box & Product dimensions settings. I entered in all my box sizes for US and international shipping. Everything seemed to work as expected. Then this morning I try to use it and I can't ship internationally. I check the configuration and first thing I notice is all my box sizes I setup are gone. Not sure why the international shipping won't work. The shipping options tab contains all the options I had setup before so they are all still there. What a mess. Are you running live with this module. At this point I am afraid to trust it.
RinaldiStudio
Honestly, does Prestashop read this..??? Nothing should be this complicated. Seriously bumping heads and not keen to redo it all over again. Wasted days on this issue...ugh.
SomeThings NC
I cant get usps first class to show up......... Unless I set it as free shipping, then it shows up free on EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! regadless of weight Anddddddddd............... I dont have any international shipping............. what I do have is a great big headache. I love prestashop, it has almost everything I could want for my store set up. The only thing letting it down at this point are the screwed up shipping and the tax......... cant get either of them to do as they are told. shopuser
I came here because when I would make a change to the USPS module, it would not update on the front end (like removing a service). All I did to fix it was go back to the module and click on "reset" and nothing else. I quickly reconfigured it (I think you have to first click on "enable" if you reset it) and now it's exactly how I want it.

I have erased the ps_carrier, ps_carrier_lang and ps_carrier_zone and also unistalled the module... now the module appears but the calculation is wrong. I could set the weight to 100lb or 10 lbs and the shipping price remains in 5 dollars.
HandyRandy
Are you ___ing kidding me? If I understand your (Never_give_up) comment here...I can only use the RateCalc for up 13oz? Please, Tell me I'm wrong. Regardless... Who here wants to configure this mess for me as a paying gig? ... because I'm at my wits-end trying to get this module to work. Anyone can contact me here at (without spaces) one point one @ live dotcom and offer to get rid of the connection error I am getting, would be a tremendous help. Of course just a reply here would help too. Edited September 21, 2012 by HandyRandy (see edit history)

mysticpotion
I am having the same problem. All my settings are correct and triple checked!!! First class won't show as an option during checkout. Also another thing that bugs me is that when a user first add a product to the cart it displays "free shipping" only to find out later that it isn't really free when they enter an address. How stupid are these Presta developers? It should say "calculated during check out" or $0.00 or anything along those lines but "free shipping?"...I am seriously thinking about going to Magento route due to many bugs and non-working modules. I know they are free modules but if they are not working somewhat right how can I trust the paid ones? Also my checkout pages sometimes looks like this:
