Strange things happening with sorting of products

I have set my products to be sorted in alphabetical order. Works just fine until I add products that have numbers in them like:

Product A - 01
Product A - 02
and so on.

I can add products up to 99 like:
Product A - 98
Product A - 99

but when I add
Product A - 100 it ends up after
Product A - 10

I want product A - 100 after Product A - 99 and not stuck in the middle of all things.
How can I change the sorting without change it to be sorted by ID, which I don't want.
Any help out there?

The only way I can think of at this second is to have numbers like 001 or 099. Otherwise I have my products sorted the default way w/e that is and then just sort the product from the back end with the position arrows.
