Email confirmation on payment error?

Hi folks,

 

I get email confirmations for orders that haven't gone through. Is that normal? There is no indication of a problem in the mail itself, and the client also receives an email confirmation. It's only in the BO that I see the error - bank refusal or the like.

 

This particular site uses Atos for processing payments, and is on V1.4.6.2 of Prestashop.

 

I can't seem to find much info on this subject - is it an error or a config problem? Your insights would be most helpful.
