jackkkx
Hi , I just uploaded the latest Prestashop release on my domain for the 3 or 4 time. When I go with my browser and want to start the installation I get this message that appears very quicklt and then vanishes : "This application requires Javascript to work properly" . When I get to the step 2 of the installation I can't see the list with the settings , nothings appear , just "refresh these settings button" but I can't go to step 3 ! The point is , I DO have Javascript enabled in my browsers (Mozilla, IE). I thought I had mis-uploaded something, but now after the 3-4 time I'm quite sure I haven't...In this moment I'm using a free hosting service but it does have all the required settings, really.Any ideas what the problem could be ? Any help would be very much appreciated ! I tried the demo of Prestashop and it really looks great so it would be great if I managed to install it..Thanks a lot in advance !Jackkkx
prestabase
jackkkx,Are all of your permissions correct? When you click "refresh these settings" button, do all of the requirements appear in green or red?
jackkkx
Thanks for the reply . Well the problem is I can't even see the list of requirements ! Those who should be in green/red , just don't appear I guess its due to the Javascript problem right ? I don't know maybe it is an FTP problem or problem with my hosting service...Is there a good way to check if all file sare correctly uploaded ? I mean I checked the total number of files and folders were correct nd also the total size and it seemed to be fine..Thanks again for any help !Jackkkx
prestabase
A good way to upload, is to upload the prestashop .zip archive to your hosting account, then extract on the server. That's how we do it for our customers and it ensures all directories/files were uploaded. When extracting on the server, it should also set the correct permissions to each directory/file. jackkkx
Thanks a lot ! Yes, this sounds good, never thought doing that, I'm going to try this and then let you know !I hope its easy to extract the .zip on my server...I'll have a look. Thanks again Jackkkx
jackkkx
I tried to upload the zip file but my hosting service doesn't allow me to unzipped..So I tried another free hosting service and actually uploaded the files in the normale way. Worked fine. This time there is non Javascript problems and I could go on with the installation , all requirements are green .The funny or actually very sad thing, is that the cpannel is so slow I can never get to the mysql section and create a new database and for this reason can't install Prestashop ...quite amazing but well, this is another problem I need to find a better hosting service Thanks a lot for the support !Jackkkx
