Layered nav block adding hash to url

Hi,

 

I was wondering if there is a way to stop the layered block adding a hash to the url query string when filtering products, or even just changing the hash to a question mark.

 

The reason I ask is because I recently added the Quantity boxes in product lists module but as soon as the url has a hash in the querystring it doesnt seem to work. If i change the hash in the url to a '?' it works fine but I have no idea how to change this

 

any suggestions??
